4:00 – 5:30 pm Power of Goodness: The Price of Peace, an interactive story reading and workshop
5:30 – 6:00 pm Reception: Visiting with Friends Peace Teams from Indonesia and the Philippines
6:00 – 7:00 pm Sharing Stories on Working for Justice and Peace Worldwide

This Friends Peace Team will lead an interactive workshop on The Power of Goodness: The Price of Peace, an Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) mini-workshop for people of all ages – young and old alike. They work with children, parents, teachers, and communities recovering from war, colonization, and violence in Indonesia and the Philippines, and support other peace and justice workers around the world. These Quaker, Catholic, Muslim, and Mennonite Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) facilitators walk the talk:

Petrus works on interfaith collaboration to reduce religious violence with teens, young adults, and adults.
Ruwaidah (Ida) works on interfaith, intercultural collaboration for the reduction of religious violence, working with youth.
Nanik runs a full inclusion, just, peaceful, regenerative preschool integrating AVP and permaculture.
Alma (Kins) Aparece supports emerging leadership in people’s movements and communities in war like Burma & W. Papua.
Nadine Hoover, a USA Quaker, author of Creating Cultures of Peace and editor of The Power of Goodness (CourageousGifts.com).
