  • Buffalo Quaker Meeting 1272 Delaware Avenue Buffalo, NY, 14209 (map)

Our next LCA meeting will be Second Hour Sept 11th and it will be a Threshing Session to discuss and hopefully agree upon LCA Community Agreements, which will be guidelines and shared understandings about how we will work together in LCA.

Why: Anti-racist work is hard. We come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of us have strong emotions that call us to this work. It is understandable and to be expected that doing this work and having these conversations will evoke responses in us. Community Agreements will help us know what to expect and help us feel safe.

What we need to discuss: How will we create and maintain a sense of safety, shared community and trust that we need to do this work? How will we balance the need to process our own emotions and the desire to keep moving forward and doing the work? What can and should we do when we have a strong reaction to what someone says or does in an LCA meeting?

What to bring: Your ideas about what guidelines, tools and agreements we can use.

Who is invited: Everyone.

Next LCA meetings: Second hour, first Sundays: Oct 2nd, Nov 6th, Dec 4th

Hope to see you there!
