In 2021, Dr. J LanYe’ presented Buffalo Meeting with a challenge: to “walk in her shoes” as a woman of color by wearing a badge designed with the American flag on it and words to the effect “One Nation Under God, Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All. Black Lives Matter.”

After worship sharing and extended discernment sessions a group in our Meeting has produced badges with an American flag and the text “One Nation where Black Lives Matter too.”

On Sunday, May 29th following the rise of Meeting, we will reconvene to discuss our experiences wearing the badge, and check in about if there are any actions we feel called to do as a collective. The meeting format will be a threshing session.
