Fall Retreat

Quaker Discernment: What is our call?

Saturday, October 15, 2022

8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Please join us in-person (masks optional) at Orchard Park Friends Meeting, House or over Zoom (link provided upon registration)

Orchard Park Friends Meetinghouse

6924 East Quaker St. Orchard Park, NY 14127

Please join us for an interactive presentation developed by Citizen Action about how economic inequality impacts racial injustice followed by an overview of the essential Quaker practice of Discernment. We will discuss how the use of one or more aspects of this practice is critical in the lives of both individuals and of meetings as a whole, especially when making decisions or contemplating a change in direction. Then we will consider how this practice could be used to determine how we respond to the challenges presented in the first part of the day.

Meals:

8:30 - 9:00 AM: Coffee, tea, juice, muffins and bagels

12:15 PM: Potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share.
