FCNL film screening - Suppressed: The Fight to Vote

Every election year, thousands of people of color are denied their right to vote due to tactics such as purged voter lists and voter ID laws. This year, with the COVID-19 pandemic threatening our elections, voter suppression could become even worse—unless Congress takes action.

On Juneteenth (June 19) Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) will be presenting a screening of the short film Suppressed: The Fight to Vote which depicts voter suppression in the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election. A panel discussion will follow immediately afterwards, when FCNL's José Woss will be joined by policy experts to explore how Congress can ensure safety from COVID-19 while protecting the voting rights of Black and Brown communities.

Registration for this online event is available on the FCNL website.
