Virtual Workshop: Brief Worship Exercises

During the current pandemic, Powell House is facilitating a series of virtual workshops on a donate-as-led basis.

On Saturday morning, May 9th, they will present “Brief Worship Exercises” with Ed Seliger from 10:00am-12:00pm. For additional information and to register, visit the Powell House website.

Many of us now find ourselves worshiping on the Internet.  Whether in person or online, is there a ‘right’ way to do Quaker worship? No!  Is there a best way to settle into worship?  Probably not.  But are there techniques that may help you settle or help you go deeper or just vary a worship routine that may have become rote?  Join us as we explore a variety of brief worship exercises.

Ed Seliger, who lives in New Paltz, New York, is active in his monthly, quarterly, and yearly meeting and in Friends General Conference. He is an experienced retreat leader and elder and has led retreats on vocal ministry and on finding wonder, awe, and joy in challenging times. He carries a ministry of the importance of embracing joy wholeheartedly in order to manifest the full power of our experiential faith. Tested by adversity, Ed has learned joy through his experiences with nature, worship, and community. These experiences have created the commitment to share joy as a spiritual practice that enables us to fully live out how we are called to be in the world.
