Virtual Workshop: Listening in Tongues

During the current pandemic, Powell House is facilitating a series of virtual workshops on a donate-as-led basis.

On Saturday afternoon, May 2nd, they will present “Listening in Tongues” with Lloyd Lee Wilson from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. For additional information and to register, visit the Powell House website.

We must be committed to making our meeting communities safe, so that everyone can be brave enough to share their spiritual experiences in the language that is authentic to them.  Listening in tongues to what they have to share is a necessary step in that process.

Lloyd Lee Wilson is a member of Friendship Friends meeting (North Carolina Yearly Meeting Conservative) in Greensboro, NC, where he serves as clerk and a recorded minister.  He is a past clerk of NCYM(C), past General Secretary of FGC, and has served on Friends United Meeting Commissions and on the AFSC national board of directors.  His travels among Friends over 50 years have taught him the importance of learning to listen to one another with open, generous hearts, seeking what unites us rather than what divides us from one another.
