Buffalo Friends Meeting Annual Fall Retreat

Topic: Privilege, Prejudice and Me: Exploring Quaker Responses

When: Friday evening October 4th through Sunday mid-day October 6th

Where: Mary and Patrick Finn’s home at Lake Chautauqua (often referred to as Finn’s Inn)

Why: 2019 marks 400 years since the first enslaved peoples were brought to America. Many Quakers owned slaves and other Quakers worked to abolish slavery. Come explore your own personal experience with privilege and prejudice, learn Quaker history and contribute your ideas for how our Meeting can respond. The format will involve facilitation by the BFM Racial Justice Circle as well as an outside presenter. There will be ample time for discussion, worship, worship-sharing, and community as we gather together to explore and support one another in this important topic.
