The “Residential Kick-Off Weekend: Living Faithfully in and as Community” will take place at Quaker Intentional Village-Canaan. This ia an intentional community in upstate New York devoted to living "spirit-focused lives that are simple, sustainable, and joyful." In this weekend-long retreat, we will experience and explore life in this community, and learn about the tools they have used and developed to advance and enrich their lives and experiences as Friends. We will discuss how their principles, and the principles of Friends, can translate into the wider world, and we will hear stories about the power of nonviolent and inclusive decision-making and conflict-resolution. There will be ample opportunities to be in nature, to get our hands dirty, to be in community, and to have FUN!
